The jawline softens before anything else does. Then the skin under the chin, then the neck. It isn't volume and it isn't texture, which is why the things that fix volume and texture don't touch it. It's the deeper support layer letting go.
Ultherapy treats that layer directly. Micro-focused ultrasound delivers heat to three set depths — 1.5mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm, the SMAS, the same tissue plane a surgeon lifts in a facelift — without breaking the skin surface. The heat contracts the collagen that's already there and signals your body to build new collagen over the months that follow.
We've been performing Ultherapy at Spa West for more than fifteen years. This year we moved to Ultherapy PRIME, the newest generation of the platform.
The difference is visibility. Real-time ultrasound imaging shows your provider the tissue she's treating up to 8mm deep, on a screen considerably larger than the original device, so energy goes where your face actually needs it rather than where a standard protocol says it should go. Sessions also run faster, and the refined energy delivery makes the more delicate areas — around the eyes, the neck, the décolleté — easier to sit through than they used to be.
What to expect:
One session, roughly 60 to 90 minutes depending on the areas treated. You'll feel heat in short pulses while your provider works. You may leave a little flushed or tender, and you can go straight back to your day — no downtime, nothing to hide, nothing to cover. Some tightening shows up early. The real result builds over two to three months as new collagen forms and keeps refining through about six months. Most people are treated once and maintain from there.
This is a treatment for mild to moderate laxity — a softer jawline, a less defined neck, the beginning of a downward pull that wasn't there five years ago. If your skin has lost more support than ultrasound can rebuild, your provider will tell you that, and she'll tell you what would actually work instead. That conversation happens at your appointment, before anything is treated.

Every treatment at Spa West starts with a consultation—a conversation and a close look at your skin, your history, and what you're after, so your plan fits you and not a template.
For injectables, a provider exam is also required by Ohio law before your first treatment. But the law isn't the reason we do it; after 33 years, it's simply how we work. Nothing begins before we understand the person in front of us.
Most treatments can be done the same day. And if your provider recommends a different direction once she's seen you, what you've already paid applies to the treatment you decide on together. The right treatment is the only goal.
